School Notes:
- Established in 1963, the college operates with three schools - the School of Business, the School of Professional Studies and the School of Letters, Arts and Sciences. The college awards bachelor of science, bachelor of arts and bachelor of fine arts degrees. Students choose from 51 majors, 79 minors and 2,800 courses, more than 300 academic options, certicates in 30 career fields, and teacher licensure programs in early childhood, elementary, secondary and special education.
- A fully accredited, four-year institution, Metropolitan State College of Denver serves more than 21,000 students. Metro State consistently educates more in-state undergraduates than any other state institution and now has the second-largest undergraduate student population in Colorado.
- Metropolitan State College of Denver is a comprehensive, baccalaureate-degree granting, urban college that offers arts and sciences, professional, and business courses and programs to a diverse student population in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Excellence in teaching and learning is MSCD’s primary objective.
- Metro State is located on the Auraria Campus in the heart of downtown Denver where our students experience urban excitement, convenience and diversity, as well as unmatched cultural and recreational opportunities. It is the third largest college in the state.
